I spent 16 hours learning about feet...
Here are the 2 things I changed my mind about after a 2 day course on foot pain:
Not all orthotics are bad.
I’ve never seen a pair of orthotics that I thought were helping.
Until this weekend.
Tony Bare, the course instructor with over 30 years of PT exerpience, helped us create orthotics that support the foot strategically.
The problem with the way podiatrists make orthotics is that they’re treating the symptoms.
They don't appreciate the long-term effects on the foot.
Why would they, if they never watch people move?
Orthotics can be an effective recovery tool when they’re designed to promote natural foot function.
Custom orthotics using semi-rigid material are now a part of my treatment tool box.
Stop stretching your calves incorrectly.
Slant board?

Nope.
Leaning up against a wall?

Nope.
The problem is that this places most of the stretch on the arch of your foot.
And chances are, your arch is already unstable.
To target the muscle, we must place tension on the foot.
The pro stretch puts you in the right position. $20 on Amazon.

A no-equipment-needed option is to place your toes up against the wall.
This locks the foot so you can target your calf muscle.

The key is to get your toes high enough up on the wall before leaning forward.
I used to tell people that they can stretch their calves in any convenient way.
But if you want relief without destroying your arch, start stretching the right way.
But the truth about stretching your calves is that it’s a short-term solution.
Fixing your feet for good requires foot strength.
That’s why I created the 60-day Foot Pain Recovery Plan.
To give active people like you an opportunity to overcome persistent foot pain.
The next launch is less than a month away (July 8th)!
